The spring-loaded U clamp mechanism allows easy swivel from vertical to horizontal, and the unit supports an impressive 680kg load, giving you confidence across a wide range of applications.

A jockey wheel rated at 680 kg is generally suited for trailers weighing between 4,000 kg and 6,000 kg, depending on drawbar load. If unsure, it is best to check the manufacturer specifications.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS:

Hitching: To use the Jockey Wheel as an aid in hitching the trailer, maneuver the trailer so that the trailer’s hitch (coupling) is directly over the towing vehicle’s tow ball. Turn the handle clockwise to lower the Jockey Wheel and lower the tongue hitch onto the tow ball. Continue turning the handle until the Jockey Wheel is fully retracted and the coupling is seated firmly on the ball correctly. Wind the handle a few turns more so the Jockey Wheel does not carry any weight from the trailer at all. Unscrew the Jockey Wheel Clamp and remove the Jockey Wheel from the trailer. Screw the bolt back into clamp thread firmly making sure it will not work loose in travel.

IMPORTANT: THE JOCKEY WHEEL IS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE TRAILER WHEN MOVING THE TRAILER ON THE VEHICLE.

Levelling and Moving: In the unhitched mode, the trailer can be levelled or adjusted in pitch angle by turning the handle in either a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction to lengthen or shorten the height of the Jockey Wheel. In this mode the trailer is a three wheeled vehicle that can be moved from one position to another, but only with suitable precautions against uncontrolled movement. If the trailer is to be stored in this mode, it is advised that the trailer wheels be properly chocked.

Towing: While the trailer is being towed, the Jockey Wheel must be removed and the clamp must be bolted firmly.

WARNING

Do not exceed specified maximum load capacity.
Do not drop load on wheel.
Do not alter the clamp from the way it is supplied.
Verify clamp is torqued correctly before each use.
Remove the jockey wheel before towing the trailer.
When moving the trailer using the jockey wheel, be mindful of any uncontrolled movement.
Chock the trailer’s wheels when stored on jockey wheel.

WARRANTY

This jockey wheel is supplied with a 12 month warranty against correct use within the operating guidelines.
Warranty will be void if incorrectly used or if the product is altered from the way it is supplied.
