Dupli-Color High Heat Paint with Ceramic is formulated for high temperature applications and is oil and gas resistant. It is ideal for exhaust components, radiator and cooling system components, transmission housing and manifolds, mufflers, boilers, ovens, and slow combustion stoves. Not suitable for BBQ hot plates or food contact surfaces.

Directions:

  1. PREP: Sand the surfaces using wire brush or mechanical sander to remove loose paint, dirt, rust, grease, wax, shine etc until sound metal surface is established. Solvent clean the metal surface with Mineral Turps or General Purpose Thinners then rinse with a detergent solution or soap and water. Allow surface to dry thoroughly. Mask-off surrounding areas to protect from overspray. Apply at temperatures between 60°F (15°C) to 85°F (30°C).
  2. SHAKE: Shake can vigorously for one full minute after mixing ball moves freely. Shake can for 10 seconds after each minute of use.
  3. APPLY: Hold can 8-10 inches from the surface to be painted and apply 3 coats in a sweeping motion across the surface from top to bottom, overlapping each pass. Allow one minute in between coats to dry. Apply several light coats rather than one heavy coat until coverage is achieved. Test spray on a small inconspicuous area to ensure compatibility and finish suitability. Touch dry in 15 minutes and can be recoated after 1 hour. Place the coated article in the oven or curing chamber. Set the oven to 392°F (200°C) hold at this temperature for one hour then turn the oven off and allow to cool. The article is now cured.

Additional Information:

  • Formulated for high temperature applications.
  • Oil and gas resistant.
  • Ideal for exhaust components, radiator and cooling system components, transmission housing and manifolds, mufflers, boilers, ovens, and slow combustion stoves.
  • Not suitable for BBQ hot plates or food contact surfaces.
  • After paint is completely dry, it must be cured to substantially increase the durability of the finish and enhance chemical resistance. Finish is not chemical resistant until cured.
  • Coverage is also dependant on application technique, thickness of the applied film and atmosphere conditions.
  • Allow longer drying during cold and wet conditions or where heavy film builds are applied. Hard dry is achieved when the coated surface is heated.
  • The EZ Touch Nozzle requires 50% less finger fatigue than a standard nozzle and allows for greater coverage and less overspray.
  • After each use, invert can and spray until clear gas comes out.
  • If spray button becomes clogged, wear eye protection and wipe off orifice with lacquer thinner. DO NOT stick pins or wire into the can opening. Discard empty can in trash pick-up.
  • Covers approximately 12-14 square feet per can.
