Which why are we stoked to announce the all new IDC25 + Anderson plug kit we have put together. The kit includes an unopened, untouched DC to DC charger as well as the appropriate sized Anderson plugs. Please note that the Anderson plugs don’t come installed on the unit, we leave this up to you. The Anderson plugs are rated up to 50Amps.

What’s in the Kit?

1 x 50 AMP Red Anderson Plugs
6 x Terminals (Suits supplied Anderson Plugs)

Why put Anderson Plugs onto the DC to DC Charger?
Good question, this is often done for many reasons however the main reason is portability & quicker installation/removal. For example, if you are wanting to install a DC to DC charger into your company vehicle, installing it with Anderson plugs will mean when it comes time to give back the car or upgrade to a newer vehicle the unit can be removed within a matter of seconds. Another reason is for future upgradability, perhaps you installed the 25AMP Charger but are now wanting to move to larger unit (IDC45) simply unplug the Anderson plugs, grab the new unit, install new Anderson plugs onto the larger unit & you’re on your way (Provided your wiring is rated to support the new charger).

How do I Install the IDC25 DC to DC Charger?
We always recommend getting a qualified auto electrician to install any electrical item into your vehicle, this is done for peace of mind. However, if you want to get it a crack yourself stay tuned for an upcoming post where we show you exactly how to install a DC to DC charger into your vehicle. As for the Anderson plugs, well we reckon the Red plug looks like a perfect fit on the Alternator Input Cable (Red Wire) & the Grey plugs on the Green (Solar Input) & Brown (Output Cable) wires.
