VHT Rust Treatment 500ml

VHT Rust Treatment Re-Useable Liquid removes rust, corrosion, and blemishes without attacking the metal. Forms a protective barrier and base coat. Ideal for guttering and downpipes, railings and fences, structural steelwork, tanks, cars, trucks, and boats.

Directions:

1. Use a wire brush or scraper to remove any flaky rust, paint, or dirt. There is no need to remove all traces of fust, only loose scale.
2. Apply VHT Rust Treatment liberally with a paint brush, leave until touch dry. Small objects such as tools etc can be immersed in Rust Treatment until rust has cleared. In some cases, a white powder will form on surface. Wipe off with a brush or cloth before Step 3. Do not rinse off.
3. For badly rusted surfaces, where traces of rust are still evident, repeat Step 2 before processing. To clean brush, wash in water.
4. When completely dry apply finish coats, enamel is recommended for best results. Follow the paint manufacturers instructions carefully. The use of primer coat is not necessary except for some marine paints. Using an undercoat is recommended on exterior car body parts.

Additional Information / Drying Time & Finishing:

• All traces of VHT Rust Treatment must be removed otherwise loss of adhesion of finish coats will occur. VHT Rust Treatment will not dry on painted, galvanised, or non-rusted surfaces. To remove excess treatment, wipe surface area with a slight damp clean cloth. Test area before proceeding.
• Under normal drying conditions approximately 1-3 hours. Cold damp weather will prolong the drying time. The application of two topcoats of paint over treated surface is recommended.
