Dupli-Color Carbon Fiber Kit

Dupli-Color Carbon Fiber Kit is a two-can system that features our Dimensional Effex Template to create a carbon fibre appearance on any plastic or metal surface. The two-step system starts with a Graphite Metallic Base Coat to create a deep, graphite metallic base., Then, the unique combination of our Dimensional Effex Template and Black Topcoat bring the carbon fibre look to life. The Dupli-Color Carbon Fiber Kit is ideal to create a carbon fibre look on any of your projects.

Kit Includes:

• Graphite Metallic Basecoat 311g x1
• Black Topcoat 311g x1
• 20” x 30” Dimensional Effex Template x1

Directions:

1. PREP: Prepare the surface by removing dirt, wax, and grease using Dupli-Color Prep Spray PS100 or Dupli-Color Prep Wipes PW100. Mask-off surrounding areas to protect from overspray.
2. BASECOAT: Apply Graphite Metallic Basecoat in 2-3 light coats. Allow 10 minutes between coats. Dries to the touch in 30 minutes. Allow 1 hour before applying the Dimensional Effex Template and Black Topcoat. For plastic application: Apply Dupli-Color CP199 Adhesion Promoter to the substrate prior to Graphite Metallic Basecoat application.
3. DIMENSIONAL EFFEX TEMPLATE: Remove the template from the box and lay on a flat surface prior to basecoat application to allow the template time to level. Apply the Dimensional Effex Template to the substrate, for best results keep the template flat to the surface.
4. TOPCOAT: Once the Dimensional Effex Template is in place, apply 2 medium wet coats of the Black Topcoat. Apply coats back-to-back with no flash time in between. Allow a 5-minute dry time before removing the template from the substrate. Product will be dry to the touch in 30 minutes. Allow 4-5 hours of dry time prior to re-installing or use.
5. CLEARCOAT – SOLD SEPERATELY: For added gloss and durability, apply Dupli-Color Crystal Clear Enamel DA1692. Allow Black Topcoat to dry for 1 hour prior to clearcoat application.
